Common questions

My password reset code never arrived

Check your spam folder first — this is by far the most common cause. Marking it as "not spam" helps future messages arrive properly.

Codes are eight characters and expire after 30 minutes. They ignore case and spaces, so 6929 8ytr works the same as 69298YTR.

Requesting a new code cancels the previous one, so use the most recent email. If nothing arrives after a few minutes, write to us.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Account → Delete my account. You will be asked for your password to confirm.

If you no longer have the app installed, email support@dk-data-sci.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm by reply within 30 days. Deletion is permanent either way — reinstalling the app is never necessary to get your data removed.

This permanently removes your account, all your passages, your practice history, and any links you have shared. It cannot be undone.

Pictures generated from your passages are shared with everyone memorizing the same lines, so they are not deleted. No account information is attached to them. The privacy policy explains this in full.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by the store you bought from, not by us, so they are cancelled there:

Deleting your account in the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel first, then delete.

I paid but the app still says I'm on the free tier

Purchases confirm through the App Store or Google Play, which occasionally lags by a minute or two. Close and reopen the app first.

If it persists, tap Restore purchases on the subscription screen. That re-checks with the store directly.

Still stuck? Email us with the address on your account and we will sort it out.

Why do the pictures for my passage look generic?

Each picture illustrates one chunk of your passage, and the number of pictures per passage is capped. A long passage means each picture has to stand for more words, so it ends up illustrating the gist rather than the line.

The app offers to split long passages into parts, which is the fix — each part then gets its own set of pictures. You can also control where the splits fall: pictures follow the line breaks in your text, so putting a line break where you want a split will move it.

If one picture in particular missed, tap it to reveal the line and choose Redraw this one.

Can I use my own voice, or a better one?

Not yet. Audio is produced by your device's built-in speech, which is why it works offline and costs nothing. Voice quality depends on the voices installed on your device, and both platforms let you add better ones:

Is my text private?

Writing, practising and listening all happen without any third party seeing your text. Audio is generated on your own device.

The one exception is picture generation, which sends that passage's text to Google so a model can illustrate it. If a passage is private, don't generate pictures for it. Details in the privacy policy.

I shared a passage and want to take it back

A share link can be revoked, which stops it working for anyone who has not opened it yet.

Anyone who already added it has their own copy, and we cannot remove something from another person's library. Treat a share link as permanent once someone has used it.
