Memorize It · last updated 1 August 2026
Memorize It helps you commit passages of text to memory. This policy describes exactly what the app stores, who else sees it, and what happens when you delete your account.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To identify your account and send password reset codes. |
| Password | Stored only as a bcrypt hash. We cannot read it, and cannot tell you what it is. |
| Your passages | The text you are memorizing, its title and reference. Synced so it is available on your devices. |
| Practice history | Difficulty level and round count per passage, so practice resumes where you left off. |
| Purchases | Whether you subscribe and which collections you own. |
| Usage counts | How many pictures you have generated, to apply the limits described in the app. |
We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, location, contacts, or device identifiers. There is no tracking across other apps or websites.
Who else sees your data
| Service | What it receives |
|---|---|
| Google (Gemini) | The text of passages you generate pictures for. It is sent so a language model can write image descriptions and an image model can draw them. |
| RevenueCat | An opaque account identifier, to track purchases. Not your email or your passages. |
| Resend | Your email address, only when you request a password reset. |
| Expo | Your platform and app version, when the app checks for an update on launch. Not your email or your passages. |
| Fly.io and MongoDB Atlas | Hosting and database storage for everything above. |
If a passage is private, do not generate pictures for it. Picture generation sends that passage's text to Google. Everything else in the app — writing, practising, and listening — happens without any third party seeing your text. Audio is produced by your own device and is never sent anywhere.
Generated pictures are shared between accounts
A picture is stored against the line of text it illustrates, not against the person who generated it. Two people memorizing the same verse see the same picture, which is why a collection you buy arrives already illustrated and why generating a picture someone else already made costs you nothing.
Two consequences worth being clear about:
- A picture generated from your passage may be shown to another person memorizing that same line of text.
- Pictures are not deleted when you delete your account, because other people's libraries reference them. The picture and the line of text it was drawn from remain. No account information is attached to them.
Sharing a passage
Creating a share link publishes a copy of that passage's text, readable by anyone holding the link, without signing in. The link does not reveal who created it. You can revoke a link at any time, but anyone who already copied the passage keeps their copy — it becomes theirs, and we cannot reach into their library to remove it.
Deleting your account
Account deletion is available in the app under Account → Delete my account. It permanently removes:
- Your account and email address
- Every passage you have saved
- Your practice history, entitlements and usage counts
- Every share link you have published
If you no longer have the app installed, email support@dk-data-sci.com from the address on the account and we will delete it for you within 30 days. You never need to reinstall the app to have your data removed.
Deletion does not remove generated pictures, for the reason described above. A subscription is billed by the store you bought it from — Apple or Google — and must be cancelled there; deleting your account here does not cancel it.
Where data is held, and for how long
Data is stored in the United States. We keep it for as long as your account exists. Password reset codes are stored hashed and expire after 30 minutes.
Children
Memorize It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and note the change in the app.
